3Rivers Archery Commercial - Banned on the Outdoor Channel!

See the commercial the Outdoor Channel refused to air! They no longer allow impact shots in commercials. We were required to run an edited version of this commercial that censors the impact shots on the animals.
What do you think? Should bowhunting commercials be allowed to show impact shots? Or is the Outdoor Channel turning its back on traditional bowhunting viewers in pursuit of a more "mainstream" demographic?

Ive seen this commercial on the outdoor channel and recently too. so dont know about the band it's supposed to have like the title said. but did any one notice on the last shot, how untuned the arrow was how it flopped around in a circle as it few towards the javelina. lol love to c pros useing bad form and haveing bad shots in front of the camera for thousands to c. im no pro but I wouldnt show mistakes like that on camera. bad shots happen but to have an untuned bow just plan lazy.

@bigmusic39 The commercial you see here on Youtube is the commercial as it was originally intended to air. The Outdoor Channel rejected it because it had impact shots. The commercial you saw on the Outdoor Channel was an edited version that censored the impact shots. As for the arrow, Dale took this shot during 40 to 50 mile an hour winds. Any arrow will react that way under those conditions. Regardless, the arrow hit its mark and the javelina is now mounted in Dale's office.

@3RiversArchery 40 or 50 mph winds? lol the vegetation isnt moving..besides that didnt look like wind drift it looked like his fletching had contact with his shelf on release

@littlebigman243 If you go to the trailer for the Javelina DVD from which that footage was taken you can clearly see vegetation moving before and after the shot. The reason you don't see the vegetation moving during the shot is because it is in slow motion. Youtube doesn't allow links in posts, but if you search for "3Rivers Javelina" it's the first video that shows up.

the outdoor channel allows an impact shot but don't allow a replay of the impact unless their is something special about the impact, i have seen only three replays and i watch just about every hunting show on the channel.

The Outdoor Channel does allow impact shots in their shows, but not in commercials.

I personally think this is more than likely the effect of Animal Rights. The "Oh noes! Poor animals being hurt on television! Don't show it to our children! Turn it to war or something else without animals being hurt, or exploited or something!" Before long, they're going to have hunting banned from television, meat banned from farms, and animals banned as pets. Of course, everyone is 'well it's not me' until it is and then it's too late.

3Rivers is awesome and love the traditional bows and equipment ya'll offer, but i think these animals should at least be respected (gotta show footage of the hunters eating their hearts! The traditional way! lolol jk ). Don't mind seeing some killshots, but to offer a critique; a lot of quick cuts of them with the rock music and the cliche bland marketing voice doesn't help lol... Surely there's a more creative and less aggressive way to do it... Keep up the great work at the website and shop!

It is hard to have hunting without impact. The Outdoor Channel allows bow hunting shows on their network that shows impact footage. We need to stop trying to make everything warm and fuzzy. I hope we never see the day they sensor hunting shows to appease the masses. Soon you will see the archer shoot the arrow then the screen fades away and the next shot is everyone high fiving at the bunk house. Yeah, what a great hunt that was.

@bigmusic39: actually you CAN tune a longbow by adjusting the brace height and nocking point. But that's only half of it: the arrows need to match the bow too (just like with a compound) by being the right spine, length, and point weight. One other thing: arrows shot from traditional bows (i.e. non-center shot bows) go thru a phenomenon called the "Archers Paradox" which makes it look like the arrow is flying crooked. even during the shows the outdoorchannel wount show the impact of any shot more then once some rule they came up with to keep all the vegetarian let all animals over populate and die off tree hugging fools! its sad that people who think that us hunters who feed our familys by what we kill and donate to the less fortunate think were in the wrong ! wish they would realy do the math we hunters help this land but get criticized for it! you dont like it then dont watch it!!!!!

The impact of the arrow,bolt or bullet is part of hunting, so why NOT show it during the commercials for the shows aired on the channel?

It's funny to me how we can't talk about Jesus it might scare someone or hunt ?????get real ppl grow up his life saved ours ! And it takes the life of somthing to give life for somthing els you can't live with out something diying to feed you be it plant or animal . May the Lord Jesus bless you keep up the good fight .
