  • Hey fabianomoser! Great video! As soon as I can construct the right antenna, I am going to shoot for the ISS myself. By the way, I noticed you have a near extinct 2-meter radio, the Yaesu CPU-2500R! My dad had one of those in his truck. I still have it but have not bothered to get it on the air. Who knows, maybe I could contact the ISS with that radio.

  • Hello,

Yes is possible, my first contact with ISS was via packet using my YAESU CPU2500R and my first and second voice QSO with cosmonaut Sergey Krikalev at 27/Aug/2005 also was made using YAESU CPU2500R.

This radio have a very good audio quality!

    Enjoy and good luck!

  • Getting interested in sat communications. What antenna are you using for this contact ?

  • For this contact i used an 7elem TONNA at horizontal polarization and 15º elev fixed. You can use any VHF antenna fixed at 15-20º.

  • DR HAMS in Oeiras, thank you very much and congrats for the great vid.

Respect for saying Charles "thank you" for being so active. We, Hungarians are very proud of him. It was great to hear his words in 100% clear Hungarian intonation from the space.

  • É impressionante que em pleno século XXI, um rádio possa causar tamanha emoção. Parabéns Fabiano! Viva, as etérnas ondas do rádio!

  • VHF??
