  • Ive seen people using herbs and traditional medicine from where i come from. (Africa) to cure Panic Disorder/Anxiety -related symptoms.

  • Good to see you leave the house or at least be outside. I am a recovered panic disorder/agoraphobic person. Its not impossible to overcome this illness and to let you feel better it happens to the best of us! Maybe a research on SSRI's (Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors) would help. I only experienced panic disorder for a year and it took me another year to get fully over this burden.

  • On Clonazepam 2-3 mg daily and thats a Benzo to control panic attacks, and then also Propranonol 120 mg daily it's a beta blocker to control my blood pressure and heart rate. That's also used for anxiety as well, to control the physical symptoms panic attacks cause. Ever since I've been on the medication I've felt so much better I leave the house everyday and go inside stores. But I have a 3 mile radius still. So I'm still agoraphobic. But I;m not afraid of living anymore. Hope this helped :)

  • I've had my anxiety disorder and Agoraphobia for the past 4 years, I refused to take meds because I was so afraid of how they would make me feel and do to me.. Well about a year ago I woke up and my heart was beating so fast that I couldn't breathe so I had no choice but to go to the ER, They told me that my anxiety is so bad that I'm starting to damage my heart because of all the stress . So they got my heart under control and then I went straight to a Dr that was close to my house. She put me

  • 7) I can neither reccomend for nor against your following my footsteps. These are simply my experiences, and perhaps some food for thought. Sorry for rambling so much. I clearly and painfully remember walking in shoes such as yours, and I truly sympathise!! I pray you find an out.

  • 6) I'm back on meds, and my schizophrenia responds fairly well to medication, but even now I'm able to go grocery shopping and hang with numerous friends better than before my break. It felt glorious to be completely free of panic and fear, but even with my current medication, I am doing loads better.

  • 5)Although most would agree that this is entirely a bad thing, I lost all inhibitions and fears when it happened. No panic attacks. no agoraphobia. I was even recklessly unafraid of spiders and heights, now!

  • 4) With meds like Seroquel, dopamine production is reduced considerably, and the body compensates for this by causing the brain's dopamine receptors to become hypersensitive. Suddenly discontinuing meds like Seroquel causes the hypersensitive dopamine receptors to suddenly flood with normal levels of dopamine, and the result is a psychotic break, and sometimes (in my case) PERMANENT PSYCHOSIS/SCHIZOPHRENIA.

  • 3)While on Seroquel, I had life-threatening symptoms, where I'd collapse and be unable to move and barely able to breathe (similar problems in a friend resulted in her death, so YES, it was VERY serious). My doctor, apparently spooked, took me off of Seroquel cold turkey and refused to replace it with an alternative med.

  • 2) With it, I could get groceries, go to church, and see a few choice neighbors, though most anything else struck me with profound horror, and even with these few activities, I found it absolutely unbearably horrifying to go without the company of a family member or other extremely close individual.
