@G95G95 And who said that slavery is bad? mankind had slavery for thousands of years, it is perfectly compatible with private property rights, and has nothing to do with racism (everyone can become slave).

Slavery is good for slave masters, and IP laws are good for monopolists! Slave masters and monopolists need love too! Don't hate the playa, hate the game baby!

@whoo689 It won't kill innovation if we tell people it's just for a year or so, that's for sure.

maybe it is better to support intellectual property for the betterment of the society, i didn't really see you prove that but say you proved it. BUT, even though I believe that one has the rights to the their body and therefore the rights to what they make, by telling someone that knows how something is done that they may not reproduce it seems to me to be a claim on that persons mind.
Intellectual Property out the window, keeping secrets on the table.

@Nintendomanwill @coolcreep Is there any possibility I could get you guys to see that our economic system actually reinforces monopoly?

Covers patents.
The major difference I see between the obviously necessity for actual property rights and intellectual property rights is that while actual property, such as chairs, houses, cars, etc. are all scarce, while IP is not. So for example if I watch an episode of The Office online, they still have the episode and the ability to watch/share it, but if I steal Steve Carell's car, he is now forced to walk home.

I think it's a total myth to say that without patents and copyrights, ingenuity and innovation would completely shut down. Where's the evidence?? What society has operated without these things to prove that they had a very weak economy? I think folks are just overly cautious and afraid to take the challenge, so they make claims they can't back up. I mean, why don't we try a patentless society for a year or so? If it doesn't work, then we can go back. But I doubt it'll kill innovation.
