Just another test to see if how the EasyCap is working. The Viewtiful Joe and Elevator Action videos are being played off my Cube with S-Video cables, which means I need to get myself some new 360 cables because all I get is black and white. I put Super Mario Brothers 3 in the video to make sure it worked with my bread and butter, the NES. ColdGuy over on ThatGuyWithTheGlasses told me he couldn't get his NES or NES clones to work with EasyCap, so I'm happy it's working.

While I think the quality could be better, it's a hell of a lot easier then what I was doing before. Going through VHS, then to DVD, then ripping the DVD with Hand Break, then encoding on Movie Maker for an hour for a 5 minute video. So this makes it much easier.

Keep in mind, I'm playing the games right off the computer screen, I don't have the splitter cables yet so I have a second or two of delay. I was really shocked I flew through stage one of Mushi without dying. Hopefully they quality will improve when I get Vegas. I plan on re-doing all of my previous NES videos with this, so be on the lookout for them when their uploaded.

Till then, check out our site over at www.arcade-hunters.com for part two of episode 8 of Arcade Hunters before it hits Youtube.

  • EasyCAP is a good alternative if you have nothing else. Parts of my own season 2 were filmed with it.

When you get a chance, though... I cannot recommend enough a DVR. I have been doing it since the 4th show of season 2 and I have been LOVING it. So much faster.

But these tests look pretty darn good. Good luck, my friend.

  • Thanks for the kind words JW. I'll look into a DVR for the future, but now I'll stick with the EasyCAP. Which DVR do you use?

I'm going to try another test tonight in AVI/DVI which my friend recommended. These were reordered with EasyCAP's default program using WMV, because I only have WMM at the moment and anything else other then WMV the program will crash on me.

Keep up the good work on your show and I look forward to new episodes! (Any chance of recommending Mushi? for the 360?)

Sorry, this just made me laugh.
