@TheHauptsturmfuhrer what a load of tosh. It was because of acts in the 50s and 60s breaking social barriers that helped the civil rights movement. America today is in better shape because of it. Would have benefitted even more if it wasn't for too many conservative governments.

I've been listening to Rogers since I was born and at 31 I'm still listening and will be if I live to 100.

"Reuben James" is a unique song in music history, released in 1969, when it was a very controversial subject, like many other early Rogers hits. He was never afraird to be groundbreaking, make people think and challenge the industry, going far beyond the "safe" and "acceptable", unlike purpose-built pretend "shock" acts like Metallica, ac/dc and system of a down =D
