A walk beside the Goyt river, near Furness Vale and New Mills in the High Peak district of Derbyshire England. The video was taken using a new i-phone 3GS to test the new capabilities of the device. It is certainly not a great video camera and obviously has no image stabilization. Being extremely light to hold and its flat shape make serious panning and filming while walking quite difficult.
However considering that the device is primarily a phone and internet browser it really isn't that bad either. I happened to have my i-phone with me on this walk and pulled it out to take a few pics. Since it was easy to operate I decided to try taking movies with it and what you see is what I got.
The Goyt river valley is an exceedingly beautiful part of the world running through the High peak district of Derbyshire. The river has also been used from the 1700's to the early 1900's to provide water power at the Mills whose ruins are briefly shown in this video. Even now a new hydro-electric power station (Torrs Hydro) has been installed at the site of the Torrs Mill - unfortunately the water level was low and the time of my visit and insufficient to power the Archimedes screw generator.
this place looks great how do you get there.
