new to asl community, as i am student taking classes to build my vocabulary as i lose my hearing. thank u for posting video. how can i download it to study 'offline' and share it with my class ? best of luck to you.
Actually it's S and C for "Sim-Com" or "Simultaneous Communication". Often used by hearing and interpreters in "mixed company". Signing while speaking... Mangled English and Mangled ASL is what it turns out!
I think you sign so well and clearly. I'm hearing, and in the process of learning ASL. I just found your videos and have watched a few. I can get the gist of what you say at times, however my sign-lexicon isn't that large yet. Could you tell me what the sign at 1:54 means, where you move both hands back and forth, with one hand in a fist and the other a c-shape? I'm interested to know! Thank you!
also, some of the new generation of deaf people may be trapped in the hearing world and never had chance to experience the true meaning of being part of "deaf community".
hmmm...are you saying that there's a culture war between deaf world and hearing world? i think you should leave the hearing world alone and explain the difference between the old school deaf people and the new generation of deaf people. new generation deaf people are the one who went to mainstream schools and never experience interact or social with a bunch of deaf people with strong deaf background like deaf parents.
You are so eloquent, watching your ASL is a joy.

Vivid picture of sim-com! I HATE sim-com, I'm horrible at it, and now I have a great explanation as to why. It mangles two perfectly good languages!
