This one was $550 and it was a used CIJ. I have two white MIJ mid 80's. I would highly recommend the mid 80's mij. They normally have basswood bodies. The tone on my two white ones blow this one away. This one had an ash body and was a little thin sounding. The only thing about the MIJ guitars is the electronics suck. I put Custom Shop 69's and CTS pots in my white ones and they kill. Best tone of any Strat I have ever played. I hope this helps. Peace. Brandon

Great Tone, its great to hear it without a backing track taking over ! This model MIJ 68 Reissue and finish (ash) guitar is for sale near me but would I have to change the pots and electronics aswell as the pickups ? Would you recommend it above a USA Standard ? I hear the electronics are dodgy with MIJ. Is it too harsh and bright ?

Thanks man. They are extremely high quaility guitars but the ash body makes them a little thin. I had Custom Shop 69 pickups in this one. They are the best pickups made in my opinion.

If you could find find a mid 80's MIj they are killer. I have two white ones. They have basswood bodies. Much fuller tone. I have a MIJ Squire and a regular. The Squire is the best guitar I have ever played. Great quality. Peace. Brandon

Can you use the treble bass and mid control using the clean channel on your amp?? Im buying the Blackstar ht 20 to play Hendrix tones
