☆連濁 [れんだく/rendaku: sequential voicing]
☆清音 [せいおん/seion: clear sound,voiceless sound](あ、い、う、え、お / か、き、く、け、こ / さ、し、す、せ、そ / た、ち、つ、て、と / な、に、ぬ、ね、の / は、ひ、ふ、へ、ほ / ま、み、む、め、も / や、ゆ、よ / ら、り、る、れ、ろ / わ / を / ん. However, there is another theory too that only characters which can be changed to DAKUON (voiced sound) should be refered as SEION(voiceless sound). According to this theory, SEION = か、き、く、け、こ / さ、し、す、せ、そ / た、ち、つ、て、と / は、ひ、ふ、へ、ほ)
☆濁音 [だくおん/dakuon: voiced sound, voiced consonant](が、ぎ、ぐ、げ、ご / ざ、じ、ず、ぜ、ぞ / だ、ぢ、づ、で、ど / ば、び、ぶ、べ、ぼ)

☆When RENDAKU occurs, these words of SEION change to DAKUON like below.

♪Special thanks to tias90! He helped me with English annotation in this video!
http://www.youtube.com/user/tias90

This video is a revised video of my old video, すし or ずし. 連濁 [れんだく/rendaku] is a kind of very important Japanese grammar, but my old one wasn't good! My English annotation was really bad and my explanations were really poor! So, this time, I made a new one for Japanese learners!

Anyway, I hope this video is helpful for your Japanese improvement!
And take care, have a great weekend!

  • @AmorDivino75 Thank you very much for your concern! ^-^

Actually, my next video has 70~80% finished! But now I am a bit busy with my housechores! I got many nice furniture, so I have to move lots of our things from old to new. ^^ Please look forward to my next video, I hope to upload it this week. ^0^

  • I always learn from your videos, though I have to pause the video frequently :) Thank you, Miyabi-san !

  • @23penguins32 Thank you very much! ^0^ I'm glad to hear that!

  • なるほど!私はなぜそれが回転寿司だと思った!ありがとう!^^

  • @CChase18 Yeah! SUSHI changes to ZUSHI in that case too because the word kaitenzushi is a compound which the former word 'kaiten' modifies the latter word 'sushi'. Thank you for the comment! ^-^

  • I always enjoy your lessons. Thank you for sharing!

  • Hey was hoping you could show some mote Japanese recipes. I have also always wanted to know what main difference between Chinese and Japanese food is?

  • Another way for foreigners to remember it (this is what I learned) is to call it the 'ten-ten' rule. I'm not exactly sure why they call it that... But it really helped me understand it for some reason.
