Eluude's Animated Art Portfolio - 2005

This was an animated art portfolio finished for my Final Project in Motion Graphics at AiCA-San Diego. Done in Adobe After-Effects, sometime in late 2005.

Main - "Sleep Now" by Hughes Hall (Music from the movie trailer for Dark City).

I'm actually really disappointed that you spent so much time on the sound byte in the beginning and the tiles at the end... but so little time on letting us view your images. It's cool that you hop from here to there, but seriously, .5 seconds is not enough time to get the full grasp of an image. Hell, it's barely enough time to get any grasp of an image.

Yeah, I had that complaint from friends before. :) But my intention wasn't just specifically to show off the art as to illicit some emotion with the art with the music accompanying it (which it may fail to do with some people). Originally, the file was a very high-quality Quicktime movie, which was easy to pause at key moments to actually view the art.

Did whoever-was-grading-your-final say the same thing or did they think it went to fast too?

I never got to hear from the teacher, since it was turned in at the very end of the quarter. It would've likely gotten the same critique I figure, but the project itself wasn't to come up with a portfolio. We just had to make something presentable with After-Effects. Fun class!

@mavic85 i agree, it does take more than .5 seconds to grasp the whole image. but what i glimpsed, i LOVED and found myself pausing on each image to get the full effect of it.

Hello! You have very good artwork. U dominate drawing & color very well, and I like your style kinda creepy/burtony/entretaining!

My only critic is to keep clear your goal:

-let the audience enjoy your work (by giving more time to it) OR,

-sincronize the music w/ artwork that is not so detailed.
