it´s a ils cat1(DA 200ra,RVR 1800ft) exactly at minimums the runway was perfectly visible,i think runway lights are not necesary until you have the ils active, what happend if runway lighting is inoperative?
Congratulations captain, your life is my dream...fly for food!!! =)
KLAX is Los Angeles, CA, USA. It's an ILS, you can hear the clearance in the first few seconds into the video.

Don't think the runway lights were necessary. Visual flight was achieved before the minimums and I didn't hear the autopilot disconnect so it may well have been an autoland. Even if it wasn't there was still plenty of time to get it all together manually.

@BaronBoy100 necessary no, but they would have been very useful in identifying the runway (we did that at aprox 500f) the rain and fog made it difficult. Airport SOPs mandate runway lighting when vis is below 3sm ...and no, it wasnt an autoland.
