AMD phenom 9950 @ 3.4 booting in to windows STABLE But hot on air

the cooler im using is the ocz vendetta 2
with ocz freeze as the paste a line line from top to bottom is all thats needed

people claim on air you cant boot past 3.2

but here i am stable at 3.4

i did have to lap my vendetta 2 slighly with thick sand paper lol

Hi man do u think i should buy this cpu cooler I have amd phenom 9950. On idle my temps are around 58c and on load i dont know, maybe 60-65c? Do u think it will decrease them?

Dude how do you overclock the phenom past 3.1 i cant and my cpu temp never goes above 30C. What are your settings?

You gotta exhaust the air out of the back of your case, pointing it up without an exhaust fan up there will make you run hot. Rotate your cpu cooler 90 degrees. I've got that smilodon, there is no vent on the top.

At 1.5 Volts and at 3.4 Ghz I can see why its running hot

You can easily get 3.2 at 1.4 Volts

if there's one good thing about OEM's it's teh monitors. Dell and HP make some good monitors if you have one laying around...

was that a vista 1.01 loader? nice i tryed that one before and all i learned is that they will always find the way to deactivate so i just decided to just get an OEM version of win7/vista save you a lot of head aches

wtf my pc boots in like 30 seconds and i got 9750 at 2.82GHz and 2GB ram your hd sucks

@greenstreetrocketman It's not always possible with some AMD cooler brackets. I had a Titan Fenrir set on my AMD system and could only point it up to the roof of the case. Luckily for me, I had some fans up there...

@zoom26 not true, it just depends on the hardrive you got. Mine loads super quick, and I got a 1TB WesternDigital Caviar Black with a cache of 64MB.
