sorry wtf??? PC's arent supposed to be used for gaming?? Open up a Xbox or PS3 u will find, A hard drive, graphics card, memory, motherboard, processor..... hmmm sounds like a computer to me...

the first games were played on pc's and console are developments focused purely on gaming but based on the same setup as a pc component wise

@black0knightcs You are backwards on this. Gaming started with PC's that were streamlined into consoles. For example the Atari ST PC released in 1985 had a Motorolla 68000 CPU in it, it played tons of games and was also a computer. In 1989 Sega built the Genesis with the same Motorolla 68000 CPU.A streamlined version for just playing games, but not better. Most of the 8 bit consoles, even Arcade Pac Man, were based on the Z80 chip, based on Intel's 8088 which made its way into PC's in 1979!

@black0knightcs the divide has come about more so in the last 15 years were specialised computers "aka consoles" were designed and built to just run games therefore you are looking at just a tower really as you will be plugging the console up to a tv or monitor etc. - i mean this all in the nicest possible way, i am simply interested on other peoples opinions regard this

I didnt say pc were always used to play games, and "when gaming first came" the "consoles being used to run them were little more than a few circuit boards built into a small box with some kind of wired input controller... however still classed as a computer - Not sure what you mean bu computers werent strong enough?

@HarryFinnUK I agree with evrything except that pc were always used to play games, when gaming first came, people had consoles to play video games since the computers were not strong enough. ID managed to find a way to make gaming possible by only moving what was neccesary. You know that mario game. Your highly detailed Mario is actually not moving, the world around him is.

ill say still PC will run better on games then Xbox or Ps3. 1 thing is for sure.

Ps3 and Xbox cant run a full effect lik a PC does. just lik running GRID with 3x32" LED Screen, thats by running on SLI. how about ATI GPU. up to 8 LED Screen... i think Ps3 or Xbox cant do this... PC will still rule...xD

@gtasamp4life Definitely. The best PC is build your own. And after you actually build your own PC there's this feeling you get that you really do OWN this hardware. I'll never go back to buying pre-built pieces of (overpriced) junk. Pre-built computers also have tons of bloat-ware that is very infuriating.
