I felt sorry for Christian, because he inherited his mother's addictions. I really admire him because he was a good looking guy who could've easily become a hunk actor like his father and follow in his father's shadow, but instead he became an honest hard worker. Welding is very difficult and dangerous. Christian may've only had a tenth grade education, but he was smart and special in a lot of ways. In Jack Nicholson's biography, he was described as Marlon's "favorite son"!

@monk22yrs ..I think the person who said he was a sweetheart meant that deep down he was probably a good guy but he had demons that were too big for him to conquer even though he probably tried to.His childhood was a very tough one and I think this led him to have a lot of emotional problems which was a contributor to the tragic events he was involved in.Like all people Christian had good and bad aspects to his personality.

What year was this, was this before or after he went to jail for killing Cheyenne's fiance?

i just remember following the murder and later suicide at the time, on tv and in magazines.

christian was a gun nut; he had lots of guns. another bit of trivia---robert blake's dead wife, the woman actor robert blake killed, she hoped she was pregnant with christian's kid; she was disappointed that she got pregnant by robert blake, after dating christian brando.....and she was a con artist, getting money from men from lonelyhearts dating ads.

@monk22yrs Maybe you know details about it that I don't. Or maybe you knew the guy that he killed. I just assumed that he had a fight with a guy he thought was being abusive to his sister, he brought a gun and the guy ended up dead. But I wasn't there and don't know the details like you seem to know. Not saying you're wrong and initially I was just stating my impression of the guy. Sorry if I caused any offence.

@bighefjeff the father of the kid he killed certainly didn't have anything good to say about christian---or marlon.

marlon brando didn't even go to his daughter's funeral in tahiti, cause he could have been held there for questioning re christian's muder conviction.

it's a shame what happened to the guy christian shot in the back....that dead guy seemed like a regular down to earth guy, from tahiti.
