Everyone deserves to see a Johnny Mathis Concert. Here, I tried to give you a "feeling" with a short one. Seeing Johnny is an "experience of the soul." An overstatement? No....This is the sweetest, most wonderful man there could ever be. His voice, as beautiful as it is, doesn't match the power he has to make you feel better than you have ever felt in your life. Johnny Mathis is the most talented singer of the last 55 years and the kindest. I wish we could have filmed so many more songs but unfortunately, my daughter NEVER videotaped before and I surely didn't know how, so she did the best she could.

I can't make you "feel" him. You have to see him in person to feel the joy, the beauty and that Mathis Magic that we fans all know about. Go to see him. You will feel better than you have in years! I wish we had film of his comments in between songs.

If you're wondering why some songs are videoed behind him, this is theater in the round. We were right up front and didn't want to disturb him with the camera when he was facing us. He does turn around several times, with the songs included and she zoomed in but never when he was directly in front of us. By the way, the video doesn't even do him justice. He's gorgeous.

God bless you, Johnny...for 55 years of beautiful music.

There was no intention to film at this concert. Only to take a few photos. My daughter decided to try because we were enjoying him so much.

There were so many beautiful songs that are not here. To name a few,.."Yesterday," "Something In The Way She Moves," "You'll Never Know, " "Moon River" and on and on! Johnny floods his concerts with beautiful songs. If you like it, he probably sings it.

My daughter tries to pan to Gil Reiger and Scott Lavender twice. Gil has been with Johnny 41 years and you've seen him play guitar beautifully many times with Johnny and I believe Scott has been with him over 20. Two great musicians.

This is NYCB Theater in Westbury, New York. This theater holds 3000 and is a wonderful place to see the best of entertainers. Johnny has been singing here since the early seventies.

  • Thank you for posting this. Johnny is the greatest singer of all time. Last Sept 30 I had the pleasure of seeing him in Baltimore. It was his 75th birthday. The concert was "Wonderful". Due to the bad weather I couldn't drive back home that night so my husband and I stayed in Baltimore. As fate would have it, we stayed at the same hotel that Johnny was in. The next morning I had the pleasure of meeting Johnny, took two pictures with him and had his new CD autographed. It's a day I will never f
