I heard the news this morning -- and on my birthday, too. so this clip here makes me both happy and sad at the same time where I've always loved the painter skits as a child. Mr. Benedict will be missed.

@werewolfantipaladin I have always wondered what he died of since I'm sure age 70 is not old enough to die since people can live up to their 90s. That is, if it wasn't a disease or cancer he died from. If I were to take a guess, the only thing that could kill him or anyone would be from choking if he choked on something.

Johnnytbirdzack, that joke's really crumby! Get it? I always loved the Mad Painter, partly because he had the same kind of mustache and beard as my dad did in those days. It's a shame to hear he's dead now. RIP, Mad Painter. You were loved by many! Pranks for the memories!

He had a resemblance to my uncle back then (plus, he was an artist), and my Dad was a cook, so when this one would come on, my sister and I would say, "There they are!" There's Daddy and Uncle Pat!".

This is the Mad Painter sketch that I remember the best. Loved watching these in the early 80's! :D

some sad news to report, according to the news, Paul Benedict was found dead at his home in Martha's Vineyard. Evidently it is still under investigation. Paul was 70.
