This engine belongs to a fellow enthusiast in the engine club. It has the most satisfying exhaust note I have ever heard from a diesel engine. Great engine.

  • I own a 3L2 gardner, with 150 hrs on total rebuild, currently in a classic wooden boat but soon to be removed. Looks near identical just more cylinders. Nice to see it's baby brother. I'd say that unit's got a worn crankshaft bearing by listening.

  • This was made to be a lubrication research engine. As such it has probably been rebuilt a few times in its life. I personally would use one of these engines for power generation.

  • this so unmistakeably gardner!!!!!!! listen to a 6LXor LXB and you'll know what I mean

  • What club do you belong to, I'm a member of the sussex and kent weald stationary engine group?
