As a mini update, I am doing so-so, now that I am a good 2 months post-op my bilateral TMJ total joint replacement surgery. Having had 5 TMJ surgeries, I've learned little tricks along the way that I'd like to share to make your TMJ surgery experience go as smooth as possible.

It's always been really hard for me to brush my teeth and feel like I have a nice and clean mouth in the immediate days after surgery. Afterall, I was banded shut for eight days...brushing my teeth was pretty difficult with that! So here are some tips on using baby/child toothbrushes and floss picks to make taking care of your teeth as pain-free as possible when you are still recovering from TMJ surgery. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at abbystmjjourney@gmail.com, and also check out abbystmjjourney.com to follow my recovery!
