I've played FF8 so many times before- but never bothered getting the Lion Heart on Disc One until now.

Step 1:
Win 20 Elnoyle cards. Yes, 20.
When you're given your first SeeD mission, at the same time you get the Magical Lamp, you can challenge Cid to a card game in the 3F office. I have found him to be the best source of Elnoyle cards. He also carries the Seifer card.
Refine the cards using Card Mod to 2 Energy Crystals, and then further refine them using Ammo-RF to get 20 Pulse Ammo.

Step 2:
Average your party level to 20 and face a level 20+ T-Rexaur. Hopefully you'll receive at least 4 Dragon Fangs. If not try again until you have 4 or more.

Step 3:
After leaving Timber, ignore East Academy station and go to Dollet station instead. The beach here is the only place on Disc 1 you can find Adamantoises. They rarely drop Adamantine until they're level 30+, but you should be able to get them at that level with a party average of level 24-25. They should drop 1 Adamantine.

Step 4:
Head into Dollet to the Junk Shop, and obtain your Lion Heart!

  • the problem with your guide is that you become too high leveled that the game isn't a challenge anyways. (With the exception of omega weapon)

A better way to get dragon fangs is to kill grendels in the forest where you have the second laguna dream, but you must be lower than level 20

Minotaur card can be refined into 10 adamantines.

But this is if you want a no level game or similar like no junction. Either way, your guide works to.

  • @MRresievil310 That is a good plan, but in my experience, having a low level is an advantage in this game. You can use junctions to buff up your stats far beyond what any low level enemies have any chance of defeating. It makes the final boss(es) an absolute joke!

In fact in this game, I plan to stay exactly the level I am on throughout the rest of the game (well, if I kill some uncardable enemies, I will gain EXP but doesn't matter that much).

Besides, I like to keep the Minotaur card around.
