@Flogboy I wholeheartedly agree. I get goosebumps with both that ID and the CBC Radio News stinger ID. Less from the exploding pineapple but I vivdly remember it. Such an omnipotent graphic, but it brings back so many convivial memories.

Growing up as a preschooler in the mid to late 80s, this logo scared the living hell out of me. When CBC news vans would drive by I would flip out and duck down in my seat real low. I was convinced that it was the source of some unspeakable evil.
Years later my girlfriend made me sit through five minutes of Sophie, and realized that I'd been right all along.

It gets me emotional too... it's a wonderful family memory, thinking about spending the late evening/night with my family as a child. It's the best 6 seconds on YouTube!
