  • Ecxellent job! Am I the only one that wishes a new movie would be made?

The show ended up becoming stupid, but the ship and the premise are the stuff of dreams. What a beautiful craft.

  • My favorite show of all time my favorite season was season 1

  • @tmont007 Agreed about Seaview, up there with the beauty of the original Enterprise, they don't model 'em like they used too!

  • @AragornCF NOOOOOO! Remakes have a TERRIBLE track records, While Trek and BSG were successfully rebooted, War of the Worlds and Day The Earth Stood Still were HORRIBLE remakes, did you even SEE "Day"? that was the worst movie of that year! Remaking "Voyage" would be another great film ruined by a remakes, remember "Bewitched" means bewarned - I live in fear to see what kind of dreadfull remake of "When World Collide" Spilburg makes ;-)

  • @lst1195 if I remember the TV model had to be rebuilt to accomodate the Flying Sub bay, doing so ment reworking the windows from the movie version, but I also remember that the TV model was a completely different model from the movie version, by season 2 they may have had enough money to build a brand new model better suited to TV work to accomodate all the stuff they wanted to show on the TV like the flying sub. Movie version is a design classic icon, like the Enterprise or the Batmobile.

  • As a follow-up to my comment of just a short while ago, I saw that DeBoer has created a new sub model - doesn't appear the have a name yet - based on the two-window Seaview, but a little more streamlined at the manta ray wings, the sail and the tailfins. It looks a bit more "streamlined", but still similar enough to the original Seaview models. ;-)

Perhaps if they do ever make a new movie or series about it, they can get their inspiration from that. ;-)

  • @tmont007, no you are not the only one wishing for a new movie. ;-) I've actually been wondering about that myself, as Hollywood seems to be in the market for remaking old movies and series these days. Just think of Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, War Of The Worlds, The Day The Earth Stood Still, and many more. So why not a reimagined Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea? :-)

  • The most beautiful sub never built. ;-)

  • awesome. Any idea why they changed the front windows of the model in the second season? I always wondered.
