One of my favorite recipes -- Fire and Ice Pickles. These pickles are a great side dish or snack with your favorite sandwich. Put them out for a tail gate party or with a turkey on rye!
This no cook recipe is easy and unforgettable.

  • Great recipes! I loved the cheeseball & granola! How long are these good for & can you store them in the fridge? thanks

  • Glad you like them. The Cheese Ball, covered tightly, should last a week or two. Ditto with the granola. The granola can be frozen for up to 6 months. To see these and all of my recipes, visit my channel "RecipeCook" ~Rita

  • I made these pickles and I guess the sliced dills I bought to make them with were too thin ? They curled up when they rebrined in the sugar mixture. It gave them a weird texture because they had shrivelled and curled Any input ?

  • First, I'm sorry it didn't work. I've never had a failure with this recipe. I use the inexpensive Hamburger dill chips, the wavy kind, from Kroger Supermarket. The pickles are about 1/4" thick. As long as they are this thickness, wavy or not, any brand should work well. ~R

  • Rita, Could I use home canned dill pickles to make these?

    Thanks

  • You know, I've never used my home canned dills for that recipe. I suppose you could if they're just plain dills cut real thin like the store-bought ones. Let me know how they turn out. Awesome that you are canning your own pickles!~Rita
