The Sphinx is 5,000 years older than most people think, and the Egyptian government are trying to hid the fact, so they don't lose the credit for having built it. The sides of the Sphinx show massive amounts of rain-damage, and the Egyptians recently started hiding the fact by putting new bricks over it. Also, there's a room under the Shinx's left paw, which has been seen with X-ray equipment, which the Egyptians forbid anyone from seeing. Some people think it's the "Hall of Records".
