  • My favorite song on this album also. I requested her to sing this in LA in 1974 at the Dragonfly concert and she did. She's the real thing!! She has a voice like a machine gun on full automatic. Love that woman!! also like Fishman on this album. She's been inspirational in my life for42 years now,,, wow!

  • Thanks for posting this, still shiver down my spine, or somewhere, when I hear Grace singing this

  • oh my this takes me back to about 1974, remembering my friend Joanne who passed in 1989, we used to listen to this album when we were 17 and sang this in school during break. Happy times.

  • @jstraw4 Right On ! the unholy trinity!!!!

  • Too many favorite songs on this album to single out just one. Across the Board is certainly one of them, but Ballad of the Chrome Nun is one of the most deliciously incendiary tunes I've ever heard, and Fishman is just as sexy as Across the Board, only more subtle with its references in Shakespeare. And who can forget Sketches of China, one of the loveliest songs Grace and Paul ever wrote?

  • I break out in trippy chills when she does the yodel in the middle of the song. What a voice, and you gotta have some strong control to keep those vocal dips in check. This is a beautiful song while being hilarious at the same time . Only Grace.

  • I agree with jstraw4 - Totally. Grace, Janis, Stevie - then in a slightly different field, Sandy Denny.

  • Grace is THE top female vocalist in rock.... and one hellova woman.... gotta love her!!

  • Gracie Slick is one of the tho top female vocalists in rock, period.

She is a tremendously talented and passionate singer.

  • give it to me grace

  • It wasn't a trial at all, Cuz your not guilty..
