ATOMIC HOLOCAUST!!!!

0:48 When I panic, I strangle nearby others, too. I can't help it. I guess it's some sort of reflex.

The best way to handle an 'atomic bomb', is to set your belt mounted particle accelerator, to detect the deflection of the local quantum frame, and immediately spin up a neutronium cocoon and weave it about you. At that point you can either stay and experience the explosion, or dash off via teleportation to any of the galactic waystations established for guests, by treaty. Chances are Earth will be annihilated so you'll have to choose a new planet, but hey!... so did your parents.

Was this a !970s or 80s commercial?

Actually gamma-rays are shorter than lightwaves, and less of them will reach the kid. But even so, it's right what you say, they most certainly will die
-
this is the dumbest sht ever LOL
as if ducking will protect you from a bomb that destroys an island off the face of earth
-
@anaktis but I hope do understand that if a hydrogen bomb hits everything just disintegrates. You know that right?
you would be dead no matter what.
-
And the Fallout happens.

What do you do kids ?! Kiss your sorry asses goodbye!
"What do we do when the bombs hit?"
"Duck, Cover, and kiss your ass goodbye."

@zmbyhntr : The entire purpose of the film was to give people a sense that they *could* do something. The duck and cover was to shield one's self from flying debris- it wasn't a magic cure-all. It was to prevent mass panic, which would have led to riots and more deaths. The gov't was basically trying to prevent low morale and nihilism, the "we could die any day" that they thought could turn to lawlessness- and you know how the U.S. government was about strict laws and conformity back then.:)
