Actually a good idea. Several defense instructors recommend a similar setup to keep by the night stand. Hear a bump in the night - grab your hand gun you throw this over your head. Good way to have a flashlight, extra mag, etc. with you very quickly and hands free. Overnight problem means you're likely to be in your boxers - tough to carry an extra mag and flashlight in your boxers - and forget about stashing a knife down there!!
