Georgia's got some turtles. Back when I was a truck driver, I was making my way through some backwoods rural road in Georgia, having never seen a turtle in the wild before. Suddenly there it was, an eighth of a mile or whatever off, a goddamn turtle just ambling across the road. I dodged and I think I managed not to hit it, but I'm not sure. Those shells are tough - you'd think I would have felt it.
