An idea submitted to the Ecomagination Challenge, 2010, sponsored by GE.

In brief: A category 2 hurricane dissipates 1.5 terawatts of energy per day. That's equivalent to the output of 50 nuclear power plants. I believe it is possible to harness this resource with a new generation of hurricane-resilient wind turbines. With ingenuity, a natural disaster can become an opportunity.
