  • To Be Honest Its Not Ment To Be Perfectly Straight Hers Is About How Straight It IS Ment To Be Because You can't Land A Jump On A Straight Leg It Just Doesn't Work!

  • You are right. She is trying to just straight it out without locking her right knee

  • is it just for this jump or all of them?

  • All her jumps are buckled at knee point!

We are trying to get some exercises to straighten out her right knee.

  • the extension through her toe and up the leg. Does this make sense? It's like when you jump of two feet and push all the way through your toes--your knees naturally straighten. Also, concentrating on pulling up tall in the stomach/back area would help straighten out the right knee, because it would lengthen her whole body.

Sorry I'm not more helpful in giving specific exercises.

  • @ibreakhearts thats such a good call.......the core to a disciplined jump is mastering the loop and having FULL EXTENSION from the pick, through to the leg/knee and back.....this will also help her spring higher

  • Wow, your comments are excellent. She is trying to do what you suggested!

  • Well, this isn't an exercise as much as something for her to think about. One would be pointing her toes in the air and as she comes of the ice. By focusing on extending all the way through her toes, her knee should straighten. The jumps where she would be able to feel this most would be edge jumps, especially the loop. Doing double loops from a backspin and single loop double loop combos should be really helpful, because she can really feel her right foot leave the ice and continue...
