Gatwick Express is the fastest and most reliable way to travel between Central London (Victoria station) and Gatwick Airport. Services depart every 15 minutes and take just 30 minutes non-stop.

  • @krnboy1009 Sorry but the train or tram can be better especially if it avoids parking costs which in the UK are very high .

  • @epmorris car is always the most convenient option when it comes to time to get in and out of airport. Its the same everywhere.

  • @krnboy1009 For early departures one needs to be at the airport perhaps at 5am which would mean there would need to be trains from London at 3 am . Equally there are some flights that arrive after midnight and this means people are leaving the airport till the early hours . For both these groups the public transport options are very poor ; furthermore expensive ! Best option usually is get a friend to pick you up by car.

  • @epmorris Because there arent too many flights out of Gatwick after 11 I think, if at all.

  • Gatwick Express is no longer a separate Train Operating Company (Source: Department for Transport), and is now "operated by Southern" therefore, under NRCoC Condition 10, Southern Only tickets are now valid on it. No need to pay a premium fare!

  • @epmorris Thank you!

  • @M4Skill0r According to their web page the last train from Gatwick leaves at 01.35 Then nothing till around 04.35. There may be other trains though with other companies but infrequent . I suggest you check with "National Rail Enquiries" online.

  • @epmorris no? how often depart the trains in night?

  • @transonicbuoy1 it not only a fraction of the cost on Southern, but at times only 5/6 mins slower than Gatwick Express, plus now the Class 460s have been replaced by Class 442 (Which also operate on London - Brighton Services), it makes sense just to bin the Gatwick Express Service which i think is what will happen, tho oddly, GE is run by oh yes SOUTHERN now
