(Outdated) Planes (Minecraft Mod) Download Tutorial on Windows - With Clear Commentary

DELETE META-INF IN THE MINECRAFT.JAR FOLDER!!!!
For 1.4 - follow the same steps and it will work.

PROBLEM FIXING!
Because there are a few people having problems, I will tell you all here how to fix any problem, so I don't have to type it out a million times!

To fix nearly all problems, go into the .minecraft folder as I showed you and move the saves and texture packs to another place like the desktop. Then, with saves and textures out of .minecraft, delete the .minecraft folder. Now, start the minecraft client (the thing that runs the game) and it will download fresh files. Put the saves and texture packs back in .minecraft.

Now, you can try the process of getting the mod if you want again and, if you do everything correctly, it will work :). Alternatively, you can just leave the .minecraft files after running the client again to just have normal minecraft. This is also the way to uninstall mods, unfotunately, it removes all the mods present.

CAN'T DELETE META-INF?
Press ctrl + alt + delete and go on task manager. go to the "processes" tab and look for one called java SE binary or something like that. End that process and then try to delete meta-inf.

@tbwarrior1612 You probably didnt delete META-INF, also the clue not to try this was the "Outdated" in the title... Here's how to fix the black screen: open minecraft and before you log in, go on options and click force update, then click login. That will give you a fresh minecraft.jar

@O5CARTHECOOLIO That's the thing - winRAR doen't have a proper trial thing - it just says that your trial has ended... But you can still use it fully XD. It's basically like "please buy our full version".

@reach4evr Ok, search for "cmd" on your computer, and open the program called cmd. In it, type "systeminfo" and press enter when if has loaded everything, scroll to the top and look for system type - that should tell you.
