  • Hey thanks for the video ive been working on an 8 horse briggs 91 model with that carb and baught a rebuild kit and replaced everything on it and before and after i did the rebuild it would always flood the carb with gas i didnt know why i checked the needle and float and then i seen your video and the main jet if i would always leak gas into the lower part of the carb then its that main jet i didnt know that untill i seen this video i checked it and it fixed my problem Thank you!

  • @skippy55008 Awesome! I love it when I'm able to help out!

  • I have a very similar carb on my Briggs . It's a 8hp mighty mac walk behind blower and it is leaking at the gasket but bout a month ago all together stopped on me I want to clrean the jets and use gasket maker. Would that help it and make it run I will post a video of the blower but I can't get it started

  • @YellowFordTruck The carb shouldn't leak very much at the bowl gasket. It sounds like the needle and seat and float are to blame for your problems. Disassemble the carb as per my videos and purchase a carb rebuild kit. Don't use gasket maker, it will compound your problems. Check that everything moves freely and that your float doesn't have a hole in it. Often, you can get away with reusing the old bowl to body gasket, but don't use any gasket sealer or maker on the carb at all.

  • To get the right carb kit, take all three sets of numbers off your engine and go to your nearest service center for the rebuild kit. Good luck!!

  • wow that makes sense i have messed with my carb for a long time now and could not figure out why it leaked out from the choke I always thought it was the float. thanx for the vid you saved me one hell of a headach.

  • THANK YOU! I got my 1968 Rugg, 6.5HP Brigs & Stratton running, and fuck do I love it. Carbs always confuse the shit out of me, and thanks for your vid it runs like fucking new now!

  • Hey I have the same carb and am in need of a Carb kit but I don't have the numbers of the engine. Previous mechanics removed the nameplate i guess because i can not find the numbers. That said does anyone know the B & G part number.

  • I'm Working On A 1967 Wards Showblower 8 Horse Briggs. The Carb Is Dripping as out of the choke. It Will Fire But No Run..............

    What Should I Look At...........

I Put In A New Carb Kit...........

  • Thank you for uploading. I wish I had found your channel sooner (preferably before I began working on the motor). This is one of the few videos I could find with that exact carb and maybe the only one that gave clear instruction and definition. Long story short, I got the motor running but it only runs with the choke valve closed and was hoping you might be willing to help walk me through it. I can take vid of what I have if it helps. Thanks again GM_Nomad@hotmail.com

  • What is this engine on? I have a 1970 something Speedex garden tractor and I'm trying to find out the serial/model of the engine. My carb looks just like yours except it has a high idle screw instead of a thumb screw. The vid helped and I'm gonna rebuild the carb and go from there but it would be nice to know the numbers to order parts.

  • I have a 10 HP briggs...model model # 391065..

When I got the engine it leaked gas out the bottom, I've rebuilt it five times in three days and it still leaks......

  • Cool man thanks a ton. I think i can do mine now...they are easy as a holley...or rochester quadra or dual

  • I have an old BS on a 5 inch dredge I have rebuilt the carb but it will not stay running Help pls. Jroberts3001@aol.com
