  • people who know french and english, please put some subtitles on that.

    DEATH TO THE VOICE-OVER ! (2)

  • Whatever happened to subtitles? can't people read? Although I am bilingual "French/English" I Still find it so very annoying to listen to the translator overiding "The Strokes" voices during the interviews, pretty pathetic, killed the video, Kill him! What ever happened to enjoying entertainment in it's original form? Why not go a step further and translate the words while they sing their songs?! I Love "Ze Strokes" "Les Strokes" Fuck it!! "The Strokes"

  • ils sont dans quel café?

  • @Lisbethnoren Thank you very much :D

  • @mariaonlyliveonce part 8 (end) - he now lives in Brazil - my brother repeats to me "this song is fucking good" and that's the reaction I've always wanted from him.

    >Nick:"you like it, eh ?"

    >journalist: "the album First impression of earth is already available."

  • @mariaonlyliveonce part 7

    >Fab:"the first 2 records he was like "yeah that's cool" even though I was sure that he didn't have fun with it at home. But this record, everytime we talk to each other

  • @mariaonlyliveonce part 6

    >Nick:"your brother was a real metal head"

    >Fab:"yes a real metal head but I told him :"I promise what I listen to is really good" Because he was my big brother I wanted to please him, I wanted to be accepted by him."

    >journalist:"and what better way to be accepted by your big brother than recording the album that he would like to listen at home ?"

  • @mariaonlyliveonce part 5

You can add something you've heard a week ago or add new ideas instead of depending on your only technic and then you progress as a musician, really.

    >Nick:"when I was really young, around 8 or 9, I was kind of a metal head you know. I liked Guns'n roses, Metallica, Motley crue, Skid row. (laugh)

    >Fab:"my brother listened to all that shit and then when I started to listen to Jimi Hendrix, Radiohead, pearl Jam, Nirvana, my brother laughed at me : "what's that shit?""

  • @mariaonlyliveonce part 4

So we decided to invite him in our video cause we've often have that experience."

    >Nick:"as a musician, it's difficult to get better while playing the same thing everyday. And when you're on tour with a rock band you play the exact same thing every night so progressing is very difficult. But when you're working on new songs it's like opening new horizons.

  • @mariaonlyliveonce part 3

Back in the US, without being as popular as in Europe, the Strokes choose to laugh at it in their last video "Juicebox" with a parody of interview."

    >Fab:"David Cross, a comic friend who also is an actor, plays this very funny radio host character who makes fun of everything and everyone like all these overexcited radio hosts who don't really care about the music but only repeat what they were told to.

  • @mariaonlyliveonce translation part 2

    >Fab:"we never really put on helmet and took guns to fight for r'n'r. And it's also not like we pretend we invented it.That's r'n'r man, how can we pretend we reinvented r'n'r?"

    >journalist:"and yet, from their 1st album, Is this it in 2001, London, Madrid, Berlin,Stockholm and Paris, welcomed them as the new r'n'r heroes.

  • @mariaonlyliveonce translation starting after the girl in pink :

    >journalist : "the strokes rhymes with rock'n roll and vice versa. The 5 young new yorkers incarnate so well the revival of the rock since the begining of 2000s that some have seen them as saviours."

    >Nick : "Les Strokes ?"

    >journalist:"are they the new messiahs of rock'n'r?"
