Heart disease is the leading cause of death in men and women. It's not just a "man's disease." In fact, if a woman has a heart attack, she is more likely to die from it than a man. If she survives a heart attack, she is at greater risk for having a second one in the next 12 months. And scariest of all -- something most people don't know -- women have a higher risk for developing heart disease than all types of cancer combined, including breast cancer. What's more, heart attack warning signs in women are different from the warning signs in men. Get Healthy's Jackie Hays talks with Theresa Byrd, R.N., with Norton Women's Heart Center at Norton Suburban Hospital about heart attack symptoms. For more information, go to NortonHealthcare.com or call (502) 629-1234.
