Stadtbahn translated = City Rail is a combination of Tram and Metrosystems. In citycenter in Tunnel exactly like a Metro (Tunnels even could handle real Metrotrains later if required). Connecting with ramps to streetlevel on separat lanes with high platforms and free right of way. (cars get automatically red light when a train comes, and stadtbahn doesnt have to wait). There also normal tram parts on the streets with low platforms. (Stairs are folding out beneath the doors there).

Anyways, so a Stadtbahn is basically a tram system running in a metro (U-Bahn) style infrastructure?

This is the first Stadtbahn I have ever heard about that uses a door chime when the doors close.
