When I was homeless i didn't panhandle. the thought never crossed my mind. I hit the phone books hard for shelters. later on a learned about food boxes. when I went to the shelter there were other resources that people showed me, like section 8 housing. it took me six months on a waiting list o get into section 8. meantime i was working full time at 6.90 per hour. after three months at the center my time ran out, but a friend let me stay at her house while I worked, and waited 4 section 8
