These are photos taken by my dad and I when I was only 8 years old. Rain or Shine we went every friday in the summer to catch Big Blue in action at its Intermodal Yard at North Bergen, NJ. Geeps were the "house maids" of the yard. Organizing intermodal and manifest trains. Run through CSX trains- mostly in the afternoon like 1pm. NS action (a lot more today) This is where the River LIne begins. Most trains go to Albany. NYS&W has its own line - owned by NS. Mostly made up of GP-18s and GP-20s. Sometimes there are CP and NS locos.- How about 10 locos on one train or a 96 car train pushed by 1 GP-18- exciting isnt?! Yes it is- a simpler time- CSX police are now very strict. The high shots are from the Path Mark Shopping Center. On the ground- the workers allowed us to hang out- gave us hats and pins. Engineers were very nice. Shots were taken on the road and the yard itself and the NYS&W Main. Thanks for watching More To Come!!
