"Sons Of"

Jacques was an extraordinary poet, and wanted to passionately explore the human condition during his relatively short life. The lack of mainstream recognition in the English speaking may be attributable to the deep melancholia in Jacques work, and the fact that he wrote exclusively in French. The "Jacques Brel is Alive and Well, etc" DVD, which, sadly, is technically deficient, gives an appreciation of what a remarkable talent he was. "Sons of..." is a truely wonderful signature.

Love this song so much.

A beautiful song from a beautiful artist, the perfect voice. And a great song on Father's Day -- we all cherish our children but they will grow up and move on some day.

Judy Collins' perfect voice and heart are in this one. An amazing and beautiful song, and a good one for dads on Father's Day.

Absolutely excellent! Your photographs are gripping and so very touching. Thank you for the post!!!!!!!!!
This is one of the many songs by Jacques Brel that Collins sang in the Sixties. Brel is grossly under-appreciated in this country. Collins also did a great job interpreting Brel's music. Thanks again for this video -- very nice job.

I honestly believe that this piece of music combined with Judy's voice was....and is....a perfect marriage of song with voice.

I breathed the substance of this tune into my soul thirty-five years ago....and it's been with me ever since. Thanx for the video.

EVERYone is someone's son (or daughter). (I always think of that when I see a homeless person) This is a wonderful little song...
