@Jeffanos Yeah, but latin surpassed it when Rome widened its influence, that's why we have languages like french, spanish, romanian, italian etc.
The greeks had always held their language, and latin never surpassed it in greece, which is the reason why east rome became more greek.

That's why when we refer to Roman culture we call it Grekoroman civilizationa and not just Roman....

There is no separate Roman culture....Romans bealived in Greek Gods developed Greek philosophy and red Greek poems....Scipio was so ignorant and arogant that he couldn't bealive his culture owned her existance to Greeks.... Patricians hired Greek teachers to teach their sons don't forget that...

@Jeffanos What?! Dont even compare Greeks and English in nowsdays Greeks were a lot better HAAH! Dont compare the Ancient Greek Culture to the Anglo Saxon Trash Culture of Today! Greeks were great but the Romans had culture of their own just not that in times of Scipio many romans found greeks "weak" and their culture bad for the roman one of course greek and roman culture mixed and Romans own a lot to Greeks but Romans had their own culture I just found those two peoples great so no prob

Even if Greeks didn't have a longe time empire they had the most inlfuential role in Ancient antiquity.....Greek was like English nowdays the international language...
