In the fall of 2010, a film crew spent 2 days filming this promo for a new iMax film scheduled for release September 2012. The film, 'Expedition Chesapeake,' is by the producers of 'Fireproof' and 'Facing the Giants,' two great family movies! Expedition Chesapeake focuses on several families in the Chesapeake Bay watershed who are either influenced by the Bay or are influencing the Bay from an environmental perspective. The Steve Groff family farm in Holtwood, PA, was chosen to represent the conservation methods extensively used there - namely no tillage and cover crops.
Turn your sound up and watch!
The Groff family is wonderful. I hope their story remains in the movie.
Too bad the "real thing" (if it ever happens) will not match the look or feel of this promo piece. Different team onboard now. Check out the promo with Jeff Corwin in Cooperstown. Looks like it was produced by a community college intro to filmmaking class.

This looks like a really classy production and I cannot wait to see the final product. Any time Penn State Public Broadcasting wants to get rid of their equipment, I'd be happy to drive up and get it. Great job and I cannot think of a more important environmental issue/solution combination. This is the future of farming.

This is a great video!!!! Steve is truely a modern day pioneer with cover crops and no-till farming. I have been to his farm several times over the past several years to check out what all he his doing. He is certainly a model farmer for improving water quality in the Chesapeake Bay.

Awesome. What a great story in such a short time. Love the boy bursting from the door shooting out over the fields in the ATV. He even gets some 'rubber' - only it's dirt!
