I went to Portland on vacation for one week. As a black guy, I was suspect in 80% of the crime during that week.

@rayamanelly I dont agree nor disagree with you. Im on the fence.. I realize these sad yet true facts... My original comments was of a guys trying to make humor, yet the racist as they may on the net always turn up and cast yet another bleak picture of the ugly under pining s of American life. Do me a fave will you, before you undertake yet another Wikipedia search for criminal statistics. Follow that up with visiting a black church to see how warm and friendly most of us actually are.

@rayamanelly I am sure there`s a lot of law "bidding" blacks out there,but statistically blacks are 7 times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and 8 times more likely to commit robbery.Of nearly 770 000 violent interracial crimes committed each year in the US,more than 80% is committed by blacks. I can go on and on with all the statistics about it ,but there really is no need since virtually everybody knows,regardless whether they want to admit that or not, that its true.

@aidrianblue77 Please!!!!! You white people must have that stamped on card somewhere tissss, lol. Blacks do not commit the "Most" crimes in the U.S. as they only make up about 11% of the population. I think what you mean to say is, as it relates to their numbers-they are far more likely to be involved in a crime. but the same holds true for now matter what race of people economically disadvantaged. This may surprise you but there are a lot of Law bidding blacks out there.

@lestermagoo i moved up to Portland about a year and a half ago from Los Angeles. people here definitely embrace diversity more so than in LA, but i'm sure assumptions are still made purely on appearance. Portlandia is funny, because it's an extreme for the reality of the city. employers in town will surely get passed what you look like and give you a chance based purely on your qualifications.
