This video describes the operational characteristics of a Programmable Air Nozzle that I installed on my HAAS TM-1P. It has a 3 position rocker switch that is installed in the HAAS Control Pendent. The top position of the switch allow for Programmable Air. The center position of the switch turns both the air and coolant operations off. The bottom position of the switch allows for standard programmable coolant operations. Standard M08 and M09 commands turn the coolant on and off. The 3 position switch allows you to switch between standard programmable coolant operations and the option to have programable air operations instead of programmable coolant operations.

The programable air nozzle has a timer included in the circuit. It has 2 adjustments. The duration of the pulse of air and the duration of time between pulses of air. The programmable air nozzle also has a counter unit that can keep track of the number of air pulses. The controls for these adjustments are conveniently located in a control box that is mounted under the HAAS control pendent.

A 115 volt air solenoid air valve is mounted under the I/O Control Cabinet at the rear of the machine.

I would like to thank Lyle Jagger for his help in implementing this prototype system. He supplied the necessary parts and technical support to implement this system. Lyle your are the man!

  • Lyle is a great guy, it's cool to find somebody on the 'net that's dealt with him. Nice setup with the relays too!
