The officers in this scenario definitely operated with complete disregard to the human life in that van. This incident reinforces the ideology that law enforcement is often willing to employ brutal and barbaric tactics for the attainment of their objectives. Clearly, in the eyes of the police, killing Jonathan Jackson was more important than saving the lives of the judge and other hostages. Shame.
