  • @ fiatnutz , hi mate, I've been looking at your videos and thought you might be able point me to the right direction.. Currently I have a 1.4 punto gt running 255hp and in process of building a 1.9 with sporting block and stilo crank.. I'm aiming for just under 400hp but not sure if the crank would be able to handle it? can you give me any advice on this field? Cheers.. :)

  • @anililguy - If you are still running the cast iron crank, probably not. You can nitride and cryo the crank to increase durability to a point. Sounds like you need a steel billet crank for that much power. The stock crank only has 4 counterweights, you need one with eight.

  • What does the accumulator groove do?

  • Accumulator grove balances the pressure between the top and second ring.

  • Thank you for the great video! Can the modified old fiat rods really take 11000-12000rpm? I have a 1.6 sohc and I was going to buy h-beam rods for that engine. Is this unnecessary for a 9000rpm street engine?

  • We run stock modified rod @ 10,000 rpm already in a Solo 2, X1/9. Thanks for asking. Have a billet crank in the works for the 1500 block (1600) w/8 counterweights and modified oil system.

  • @SpeedingStudent well if you have to rebuiild and entire block and head parts every race to gain horsepower to into fed rtules well thats not road type for sure.true that

  • @yurikarkinovich Also, consider durability.

The more stressed and engine is, the faster the parts wear out, and the faster the "weak link" will break. Then your engine is toast. This gentleman in the video is talking about race applications, i.e., the engine will be rebuilt often after races, which is normal.

I give mad props to this dude. I love me some FIAT X 1/9.

  • I want some for my X1/9

  • neat on mod work.

  • I am interested in building the "full monty" to get as much HP and torque as possible. Two questions; how much power is too much for this car for dependable street use? What Tranny is being used to handle this power? Thanks, good videos and good work!

  • How capable are these motors and chassis?

also how expensive are they. I got a Fiat x1/9 in back I saved from the crusher but I don't want to let it rot out back I want to build it soon.

Has anyone ever taken something like a toyota or honda fwd 4cyl setup modified to fit in there?? I thought about doing that since parts are much more accessible since I don't have a machine shop.

I kinda like to try the 4age toyota or b16 honda. but I bet the fiat engine is lighter.

  • 4 cylinders ?

    what engine size ?

    turbo, non turbo ?

you can make more than 220 from a 4 cylinders !

  • SO this engine is NA and reach up to 11 000 rpm?WOW but WHY honda and toyota claims is imposible to make more than 220hp from a 4 cylinders,SO this is a lie or ecerything is possible with MONEY¿
