Following the Soviet Collapse in 1991 several new nations in Central Asia are created. Major US oil companies, including Exxon Mobil, Texaco, Unocal, BP Amoco, Shell, and Enron bribe heads of state to secure the oil in these regions. These oil fields have an estimated $20 trillion. The problem is getting the oil out. The only viable route is through Afghanistan.

I consider myself a Liberal hippie (not a stinky hippie though) and I agree with the top comments, by any means by any force. The gov't might lie to us and withhold tons of information, but what does the average american need with that information, I think we are all just addicted to the amazing tech demonstrated and fielded post 9/11. There are alot of secrets that need to be kept. and bitchin about the collateral damage is dumb since our budget is spent on smart weapons that save lives
