  • Hi David, thanks for the full song. It is quite a signature tune by now. I think you should have your own T.V music show. It would certainly be very entertaining. Something like the 'Later with Jules Holland' show we have in England! Just a thought - but I can see it comming! I was thinking of posting a couple of vids myself soon - just to join in. Maybe my rendition of your blues 14, or amazing grace. Is that appropriate.

  • mleeblues - thanks for your comments. I'd love to see/hear some of your work on the keyboard. Post it! Best wishes - David Sprunger

  • Hi David, I'v just about got to the end of chapter 14. For me it was very helpful in learning ways to incorporate some really nice jazz chords into a blues piece. Thanks, I'm looking forward to 15! I just wondered, do you play the hammond parts in your band as well as piano when you play live? I know in bands I've played in the keyboard player usually has to play piano and organ - although not necessarily at the same time! Anyhow, whoever plays hammond on your tracks always sounds good.

  • Hi mleeblues - thanks for the kind words. Yes I do play the Hammond tracks. In the studio, I do them seperately, but live I run the B3 module (Roland Vintage patch #69) with the piano, using two Ernie Ball pedals to bring the B3 in/out as well as control rotor speed. Makes my feet dance around like a crazy monkey though... :)

  • hi David. Discovering your site last year was the biggest boost to my playing. Do you think it would be possible at some point to do any practise backing tracks to use for practising base lines, comping, soloing etc. I know we have chapter 11 for the scales - maybe they could be used for this. Also what about doing a chapter demonstrating some good old fashioned boogie-woogie! Still very popular, and part of the blues. Sorry to be so demanding, but at least I'm enthusiastic!

  • "...at least I'm enthusiastic"

no kidding! that is so very cool to hear your enthusiasm coming through. i bet you're a fantastic player with drive like that. Backing tracks - I've toyed with that idea and may pursue it later this year. Boogie-woogie - you're right that is essential stuff. Did you see Jerry Lee Lewis play classic Boogie on the piano in DC on the 4th of July yesterday? He rocked the place and he must be close to 90 yrs old. That's so fantastic. Best wishes - David Sprunger
