Coal ships are constantly going in and out of the Port. Newcastle is the largest volume coal loading port in the world.
The Breakwall is a popular walk for the locals and tourists alike.
The Lonely Planet guide lists Newcastle in the top 10 cities to visit in the world.
I don't need a book to tell me that...I live here.

  • great video

  • @Duets80 Thanks you. Greetings from Australia.

  • Wow, great timelapse sequences, Bryn, awesome job with the kitchen timer panning device, looking GOOD!

  • @johvdz Thank you. My first 2 attempts at making the Kitchen timer panning devices were ok but it can be hard to get them dead level all the way around. So the next one will hopefully be even better.

  • @brynmag Yeah, that's always a bit of a challenge to get the horizon horizontal all the time while panning... but in editors like Sony Vegas you can adjust the 'angle' of the footage in post production across the timeline (at least I'm able to do that in my Pro 8b version) ... of course it's better if you wouldn't need that at all by developing the perfect stay-horizontal-at-360° panning device ;-)

  • @johvdz I think the challenge is to find a stock kitchen timer that can be modified and made to be straight and level. I've seen some good video on YT on making panning devices but cant seem to find the same items locally. The ones that I have managed to find are all a bit dodgy and difficult to work with. Anyway I will perservere.

  • @floydstinkyboy That is actually one of the smaller boats. The big ones didn't want to play right then.

  • yay! excellent job. that was a mighty big boat the tug dragged in. and yes, those waves like the boogie~!

  • @brynmag Yes, I know what you mean "patience you must have!!". You sure should have a lot of patience, when filming...:)
