Seeing Stars [Intro 2]

Here is the 2nd part of the intro. Honestly, I didn;t know if I should put it in the 1st chapter, but I decided just to continue the intro!

The next day at school, Emma walked into the classroom, and saw Derek;s empty seat. She sat in her seat, and waited for him to come. But he never did.

**10 Years Later**
Emma was cleaning out her basement. She came upon a box labeled "Elementary School", and she opened it. Laying on top was pictures from her 8th Grade Graduation. She looked at it.

"Wow, that was only 2 years ago. Haha, Maria was crying. I gotta call her later." she said.
She set the photo down, and dug in the box a little deeper. At the bottom, there was some photos of Emma and Derek. A certain anger welled up inside Emma, then spilled out, like a volcano of frustration.

"F you Derek!" Emma threw the photo back in the box. "F you. 10 years, and you dont call, or even send a letter? Great friend you were."
She pushed the box back, and went back upstairs. By mistake, Emma bumped into her dad.

"Oh, sorry."
"It;s fine Emmy. But, Hey. Do you think a red rose on a black and white background? Or a white rose on a black and red background?"

Emma;s father was a stay at home dad. He was an artist, and his most current project was for a floral company.

"Definitely red, on black and white."
"Thanks, if you need me, I;ll be in the studio." And he left.

Then Emma decided to go out skateboarding. Since she was in 4th grade, Emma loved to skateboard. And snowboard, she was an outdoorsy person. She went down her driveway. And built up speed as she skated down the road. And she quietly sang to herself.

"I am confident, but, I still have my moments. Baby, that;s just me."
Yup, Emma was a Demi fan. She didn;t really care what people thought of her. It;s only music. Can;t she listen to what she wants? Emma continued down the street, and stopped at the library. Her friend Alyssa worked their on the weekends.
