Or a 15" speaker! I LLLLLLLLOVE the sound of a low wattage single ended amp through a solid pine 1x15 with an old P-15 or even a ceramic like an emi big ben. The SE even-ordered harmonic distortion is so sensitive, so clear, so musical and articulate, even at the most saturated levels, you can still make out individual notes in full chords. But the 1x6" combo setup is a joke. You can take the internal right out and just use the thing as a head with a 1x15, 1x12, or even a 1x10 or 2x10, but a 6"?
Thje internal speaker is on a 1/4" jack, so why does everyone just buy a really expensive 6" speaker? A 6" cone isn't going to respond in the low frequencies produced by the bottom strings at all, and so it will jsut sound nasal, even the best 6" speakers are still 6" speakers. Why not just plug in an external cab? You can spend the same $75 on a jensen MOD-12, and build a cab out of pine with a plywood baffle, and you got a sweet single ended tone, especially when you dime it.
I have my two Champion 600s about 14" from a granite wall. If you want that deep south tone leave them but I took the backs off and boy what a difference, the bass and top end open up a lot.
Is this the 10"???
